I’ve always dreamt of owning my own gym so I made it my life’s ambition to make it a reality. Now here I am writing the web content for my gym’s website so dreams can come true!
I had a vision of my gym being the place clients come to become educated about the reality of what it takes to achieve results in the health and fitness world – through appropriate exercise and nutrition – and for inspiration to help accomplish their dreams, and, in so doing, sparing them the misleading *BS* most of the industry has to offer.
Sport and exercise have been my lifelong passion, so I am one of the lucky ones making a living from what I love doing.
Football was my first passion as a kid and still is. Even though I’m retired from playing, I still like to watch it and follow my team. I played throughout my younger years and teens, as well as rugby, and tried various martial arts; however, discovering bodybuilding in my early teens was certainly the biggest life changer for me. Bodybuilding became a huge and positive influence in my life: it got me out of trouble and taught me how to be disciplined, set goals and live healthily. It led me to nutrition and many other areas of training which I have since spent my life studying and practising; in particular, powerlifting, Olympic weightlifting and my biggest love of all, Muay Thai Boxing.
I’ve run my personal training business for nearly 15 years (written 2018) and before that I worked for the NHS as a Physio for 4 years. I worked in the bar and nightclub security industry for over 10 years and throughout that time, always worked my other job. Dreaming of running my own gym was the reason for having two full-time jobs and another area in my life that taught me how hard work and perseverance always pay off.
I’m a Personal Trainer, Strength and Conditioning Coach, Advanced Sports and Exercise Nutritional Advisor, Olympic Weightlifting Coach and I’ve studied and done many other courses over the years. Although I have trained hundreds of clients over the years and helped them achieve great results, nothing has taught me as much as putting myself through all the different training and dieting, learning and feeling for myself what it takes to change my body or make myself perform better.
I’ve dedicated my life to exercise and nutrition and lived and breathed the lifestyle, but at the same time, I’ve still managed to find a balance and enjoy life – and have other interests.
A good analogy I like to tell my clients is that all forms of training programmes are like pushing a boulder up a hill: it doesn’t matter how advanced you are, as soon as you stop pushing (stop training/nutrition plan) the boulder comes rolling back down. This is why I say it’s a lifestyle!

From my first meeting with Scott, I learnt something new and have continued to learn from my brilliant (and unbelieveably strong) trainer / coach Patrick.
Small, yet big enough. Friendly, yet professional. In a nutshell, and most importantly, they know their stuff - and are good blokes.
They go above and beyond and I recommend Patrick who is a great a strength and conditioning coach.. who takes his job very serious and cares about his clients a lot. He is super passionate about getting you to succeed.
After flirting with alternative personal trainer providers, I ended up with Alex to get the job done. I have gone through countless trainers and none had the dedication and passion for fitness and physical health than that of Alex's.
Based on my experience so far, after more than a year into my fitness programme, if anyone is considering choosing a personal trainer, then I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Alex.

Scott also provided excellent nutrition guidance at the start to support those training goals. The gym itself is really well equipped and there was never more than two people in there when I trained which is a much better experience than PT in a normal gym.
